A non-league football club in Gloucestershire is adding solar panels to its range of flue accessories.
Forest Green Rovers are installing the technology as part of the Sustainability in Sport scheme, which was instigated by the club's chairman Dale Vince. The club has claimed that 180 panels will generate around ten per cent of electricity used by the stadium, reports the BBC.
Mr Vince explained to the news provider: "On the whole the fans have been very supportive. The fans are up for this eco adventure that we're on and it's good fun."
He also asserted that the club is considering low energy LED floodlights, an electric robotic lawn mower and potentially an electric minibus for the team.
In recent weeks, the Worcester News reported that people should have their boilers checked by a registered engineer this winter.
These checks must be completed for the likelihood of carbon monoxide poisoning, a representative from the Health Protection Agency told the newspaper.
