Seven steel boilers have been supplied to Bournemouth and Poole College by Hamworthy Heating.
The college has 3,400 full-time and 20,000 part-time students, with space spread throughout campuses across the two south-coast towns. Four Antsy 320kW boilers were chosen for its Lansdowne site, reports HeatingandVentilating.net.
Three Melbury HE 630kW steel boilers were also selected for the North Road campus.
Martyn Francis, facilities and procurement manager at the College, told the website: "The new boilers at both our Lansdowne and North Road campuses are already providing the College with greater efficiencies in energy consumption."
Mr Francis continued by saying that the equipment is contributing to a reduction in the college's carbon footprint.
Elsewhere, the Shropshire Star reported that rural schools in the area will soon be able to take advantage of cheaper heating bills, as oil and gas supplies will be switched to boilers that are fuelled on pellets.
Shropshire Council is set to spend roughly £2.6 million to provide high-tech biomass boilers in the region.
