Solar panels can enable homeowners to generate electricity in a clean, green way and save money on flue accessories bills, it has been claimed.
The systems are simple devices, as there are no hidden parts, meaning that there is no environmental effects and they simply work without people having to invest in them or do anything, according to a specialist from the BSolar and Energy Foundation.
Peter Bladen, managing director of the group, warned that gas and electricity prices will rise significantly in the future.
He explained: "Our companies are on the international markets buying their raw fuel, we have increasing problems for the future and everybody is going to face much higher bills."
Solar appliances have also been advocated by the Energy Saving Trust, with the group's representative Jessica Forster advising that now is the right time to capitalise on solar energy schemes in order to save money.
