American fire crews were recently affected by treacherous icy conditions when attending a chimney fire that began inside flue accessories.
The incident occurred in the Middleboro area of Massachusetts, where fire experts had difficulty driving their truck through hazardous icy roads. Eventually, they were able to reach the scene and put out the blaze before it caused any severe damage, according to Enterprise News.
Local fire captain Glenn MacNayr said that fire officials utilised chains to remove burning creosote from the home's ember box, with the operation being completed in around an hour.
Meanwhile, Cambridge News has reported that the Wheatsheaf pub in the area was recently damaged after flames emanated from its chimney.
Ben Kay, the pub's landlord, was not aware of the incident until he was informed of it by customers and told the website: "I'm glad I called the fire brigade, just happy no-one was hurt and all our stuff is alright."
