Wales' first minister Carwyn Jones has launched a new solar park in the country, where many new flue accessories will be located.

Ms Jones has attended the event in Pembrokeshire, where a £2.5 million investment in solar panels is providing a better than expected supply of green and clean electricity, reports the Tivyside Advertiser.

She explained to the news provider: "Increasing fuel prices and our drive to reduce carbon emissions mean that a transition to renewable energy production is more important than ever."

Ms Jones highlighted that the project is a "shining example" of what can be attained by renewable energy generation in Wales.

An article for the North-West Evening Mail has revealed that proposals for a new biomass plant in Barrow could lead to the creation of 500 jobs for local construction workers.

Centrica is aiming to construct an 80MW biomass power station on the Roosecoote premises, which will act as a replacement to the existing gas-fired station.
