British Gas' new boiler scrappage promotion could help homeowners to make savings on the energy bills of their flue accessories.
The company is offering people the chance to exchange their old boiler for a more sustainable model and receive a £400 discount. Also, individuals could be entitled to a £200 reduction on other selected models.
Tom Lyon, energy expert at uSwitch, said: "This scheme will help to plug the gap left by the withdrawal of the government scheme, which finished in March last year."
Savings of up to £255 a year can be made if people use energy efficient boilers, Mr Lyon explained.
He added that there is no limit on British Gas' project and consumers have until June 30th to apply.
Recently, the Lincolnshire Echo reported that a 75-metre chimney stack in Lincolnshire could be narrowed as part of proposals for a new rubbish incinerator, which is valued at £145 million.
